Peter proposed to Allison on July 27th, 2002, in Virginia Beach on the balcony of the Ramada Plaza Hotel. They had gone away for the weekend for a Pediatric Conference and were enjoying a relaxing weekend at the beach. Following a romantic dinner at Il Giardino Ristorante (Peter’s Dad’s favorite restaurant), Peter and Allison returned to their room to sit on their balcony and enjoy the sunset. The sun was starting to set and the sky was full of beautiful colors. The two were enjoying the romantic view and some good chocolate (Toblerone-dark) when Peter reached into his pocket and pulled out a small silk pouch. He told Allison that he had something he wanted to give her and removed the engagement ring from the pouch. He then got down on his knees and asked Allison if she would marry him. She replied a very excited and tearful, "absolutely" and Peter placed the incredible ring on her finger. This picture was taken the night we got engaged!
